Carbon fiber composite bonding for drilling platforms
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Toughened DP420 Epoxy Adhesive has been used to bond carbon fiber while assembling lightweight drilling platform equipment. The adhesive creates secure bonds between carbon fiber and stainless steel, and field tests have shown it to be resistant to dynamic loading, crude oil, hydrocarbon mud and fragments of rock mixture flowing at 80 to 100ºC.
